The National Council on Disability (NCD) is privileged to partner with the U.S. Department of Labor's Office on Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) in three on-line dialogues designed to engage the broad community on policy issues relevant to social media space and people with disabilities.  The first dialogue, which addressed access and barriers to social media for people with disabilities and discussed the importance of and uses of social media by the disability community, was live from March 17-April 4, and brought together ideas and comments and many discussions and ideas for ways to improve interaction of people with disabilities and social media.  For a summary of the discussions, ideas and facts regarding this dialogue, please visit http://NCD-ODEP.SocialMedia.ePolicyWorks.org/

On May 15, 2014, the second on-line dialogue will commence, addressing design and technology in social media space with attention to means for increasing participation for people with disabilities.  To register and participate in this on-line dialogue, please visit http://SocialMediaTech.ePolicyWorks.org/.  This dialogue will be conducted live from May 15-30, 2014, and we invite you to visit the dialogue, engage with us, provide and vote on ideas.

The third dialogue of this series will address employment opportunities, barriers and curricula in order to maximize potential for people with disabilities to fully engage in careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). Further information about the date and registration for this event will be posted shortly.

We look forward to participating in these on-line dialogues with you.  Thank you very much for your interest and for sharing your insight and ideas.
