National Council on Disability to Conduct Disability Civil Rights Briefing in Miami

WASHINGTON--The National Council on Disability (NCD) is conducting regional community briefings around the country to share findings and recommendations on federal enforcement of disability civil rights laws with people with disabilities. The next briefing will take place in Federal Region IV (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee) on September 15, 2000, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., at the Sheraton Biscayne Bay Hotel, 495 Brickwall Avenue, Miami, Florida. This meeting, which is open to the public and free of charge, will focus on NCD's new Ten-Point Strategy for the Next Decade of Disability Civil Rights Enforcement (www.ncd.gov/newsroom/publications/gap.html. The National Family for the Advancement of Minorities with Disabilities (NFAMD) is assisting NCD in coordinating this event.
