National Council on Disability Nominees Confirmed by U.S. Senate

WASHINGTON--Two of President Bush's nominees to the National Council on Disability (NCD), an independent federal agency making recommendations to the President and Congress on disability policy, were confirmed by the U.S. Senate on November 14, 2002.

Those confirmed are:

Joel I. Kahn, Wyoming, Ohio. Mr. Kahn is a section manager in Information Technology at the Procter & Gamble Company. He is a nationally recognized engineer and disability advocate. In 1991, he was named National Multiple Sclerosis Father of the Year.

Linda Wetters, Columbus, Ohio. Ms. Wetters is assistant executive director of the State of Ohio Rehabilitation Services Commission, where she assists in the administration of the state agency designated to provide vocational rehabilitation services to people with disabilities.
