National Council on Disability to Promote International Disability Issues

WASHINGTON--The National Council on Disability (NCD) will cosponsor an international disability dialogue from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on February 13, 2003, at the World Bank, Building H, 1600 19th Street, NW, Washington, D.C.

The meeting, which is cosponsored by NCD, the U.S. International Council on Disabilities, the World Bank, and disability advocate Yoshiko Dart, will focus on the development of a United Nations convention on the rights of people with disabilities and efforts to promote a disability-inclusive foreign assistance policy in the United States.

Confirmed speakers include Venus Ilagan, newly elected chairperson of Disabled Peoples International and Representative James R. Langevin, chair, House Bipartisan Disability Caucus.
