U.S. Senate Confirms Anne M. Rader to National Council on Disability

WASHINGTON-Anne M. Rader of New York was confirmed by the U.S. Senate to be a member of the National Council on Disability (NCD) on June 19, 2003.

Rader currently serves as deputy vice president of workforce development and housing for the New York-based Seedco, a national nonprofit intermediary which provides financial and technical assistance to community-based organizations seeking to improve the lives of people and communities through a variety of human service initiatives and programs.

Previously, Rader served as senior manager for housing and community development at Fannie Mae in Washington, DC. She also served as special assistant to then Secretary of Labor Elizabeth Dole, working to develop healthcare and job training initiatives for the Department of Labor.

Rader serves on the national board of directors for the United Cerebral Palsy Associations. She is a graduate of Marquette University and received a Masters in Public Administration from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.

NCD is an independent federal agency making recommendations to the President and Congress on disability policy. NCD first proposed and then drafted the original Americans with Disabilities Act.
