National Council on Disability Announces Speakers
for Release of Recommendations on Livable Communities for Adults
with Disabilities
WASHINGTON—The National Council on Disability
(NCD) will release its report Livable
Communities for Adults with Disabilities at a Congressional
briefing on December 2, 2004, from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. in
Room HC-8 of the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. This
event is free of charge and open to the public.
During the briefing, NCD will share some of the key
findings and recommendations from the report. A panel of distinguished
experts will provide their reaction to NCD’s report, and discuss
the implication of their own organizations’ work in the area
of livable communities.
NCD is co-hosting the release of this report with
the assistance of the House Bipartisan Disabilities Caucus and the
Congressional Livable Communities Task Force. The report articulates
the elements of a livable community for adults with disabilities,
