PURPOSE: The National Council on Disability (NCD) is collaborating with federal agency representatives and disability leadership stakeholders to obtain meaningful input in the planning and implementation of Medicaid managed care.
OBJECTIVES:
1. Facilitate the discussion of experiences, preferences and desired outcomes for Medicaid managed care as described by disability leadership, federal and state agency representatives, health plans, and providers.
2. Promote the Medicaid managed care principles outlined in the NCD report, Medicaid Managed Care for People with Disabilities http://www.ncd.gov/publications/2013/20130315/
3. Summarize and disseminate the forum proceedings and stakeholder input.
4. Develop best practice recommendations that may inform federal Medicaid managed care policy directives to the States, CMS and Congress.
