NCD celebrates ADA anniversary with policy briefing series

WASHINGTON–The National Council on Disability is celebrating the 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act with a six-part virtual policy briefing series.
NCD’s series will run July 23 through August 27, focusing on its forthcoming advisement to federal policymakers titled, Ground Transportation for People with Mobility Disabilities 2025: Challenges and Progress.
The series will be livestreamed on Zoom for Government.
The briefing series will start at 2 p.m. EDT each Wednesday. The first briefing on July 23 will feature remarks by former Congressman Jim Langevin.
- July 23: Transportation disadvantages of people with mobility disabilities
- July 30: Uber, Lyft, and other transportation network companies (TNCs)
- August 6: Taxis and the need for wheelchair accessible fleet
- August 13: Autonomous vehicles
- August 20: Paratransit and microtransit
- August 27: Rental cars and shuttle service
